Professor Li Zhanrong, Vice President of Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics, was invited to give a lecture on the topic of “Constitutional Interpretation of the Great Rejuvenation of the Chinese Nation” on November 3. The lecture was presided over by Professor Ren Xirong, Associate Dean of JLU School of Law. Professor Li Haiping, Associate Professor Lu Pengyu, Docotor Xing Binwen, Doctor Meng Rong, and more than 40 students attended the lecture.
Professor Li Zhanrong explained the constitutional significance of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation in detail. At the beginning of the lecture, Professor Li approached from the concept of “the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation” and pointed out that it is the general goal and fundamental objective of the country through introduction of a series of national goals stipulated in the preamble of the Constitutional Law. Professor Li elaborated the constitutional significance of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation from three aspects: its relationship with the leadership of the Communist Party of China, its relationship with a community with a shared future for mankind, and its relationship with the rule of law.
First of all, the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation is inseparable from the leadership of the Communist Party of China. Secondly, the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and the promotion of a community with a shared future for mankind have been written into the Party Constitution and Constitutional Law. The great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation is not only for the benefit of Chinese nation, but also helpful to accelerate the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind. Thirdly, the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation undertakes the wellbeing of the people, which is an obligation stipulated by Constitutional Law. In the end, Professor Li proposed to improve the National Security Law, strengthen the implementation of the Civil Code, and promote the interaction between the Constitutional Law and department laws to accelerate the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
