On September 26, members of Research Center of Finance and Insurance Law, Jilin University School of Law, visited Jilin Xinqian Law Firm and jointly held an insurance cases workshop. The participants include Pan Hongyan, associate professor of Jilin University School of Law and director of Research Center of Finance and Insurance Law; Liu Xiaolong, director of Jilin Xinqian Law Firm; Liu Entian and Liu Bo, lawyers from Jilin Xinqian Law Firm. There were also postgraduates from School of Law, namely Zhang Lei, Li Qiutong, Gao Ya, Gao Yiqi, Gao Yuyang, Li Yanqi, Bai Han, Chen Hongwei, Wang Meiqi, Zhang Tiantian, and Wang Jiawen.

The workshop mainly consists six sessions: introduction of the case, bill of indictment reading, bill of defense reading, comments from lawyers, views of the court, and interactive communication. The students made adequate preparations before the workshop, which was carried out in the form of oral defense. Prof. Pan Hongyan, Liu Entian, and Liu Bo made detailed comments on students’ defense. From their teaching experiences and legal practice, they provided guidance and instructions for students to further their future studies and career. Throughout the workshop, students actively interacted with the lawyers and presented their opinions.

The workshop co-hosted by Jilin Xinqian Law Firm and Research Center of Finance and Insurance Law, Jilin University School of Law, has created a good opportunity for students to conduct legal practice.
